MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The two-day decathlon for Dain Lenz (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) and Owen Weaver (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational concluded Friday afternoon with five more events at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
 
Out of 14 competitors in the decathlon, Weaver and Lenz each finished third and fourth, respectively, in the two track events, the 110m hurdles and 1500m. Weaver then went fifth in the javelin, sixth in the discus and seventh in the pole vault, while Lenz was seventh in the javelin, eighth in the pole vault and 12th in the discus.
 
The rest of Kutztown's outdoor team will open up its 2026 regular season tomorrow, Saturday, March 21, at the Keystone Challenge, hosted by Shippensburg University. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
