CHESTER, Pa. -- Sophomore
Jake Kelly (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) moved into eighth-place on Kutztown University's all-time top 10 list in the weight throw as the Widener Indoor Classic commenced with throwing events at the Schwartz Athletic Center on Friday evening.
Kelly established a new personal record with a best throw of 16.79m (55-1) to join the program's top 10 list. The throw was also achieved a PSAC qualifying mark and placed Kelly seventh out of 48 competitors.
Kelly, a Philadelphia native, also topped the Golden Bears' entries in the shot put, where he finished 11th with a best effort of 14.11m (46-3.5).
Jonathan LoStocco (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) also represented the Maroon and Gold in the shot put, placing 32nd of 45 entries with a top throw of 12.35m (40-6.25).
Kutztown will send a full roster to the University of Pennsylvania's Ott Center on Saturday for the remainder of the meet, which begins at 1:30 p.m. Additionally,
Weston Fry (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) will represent KU in the 5,000-meter run at Susquehanna's Valentine Invite.
