KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Andrew Szeplaki (Bath, Pa./Northampton) had a breakout first season for Kutztown track & field during the winter and finished it off on a high note, being voted the 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's Indoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year, announced Wednesday.

Szeplaki recently finished ninth in the pole vault at the NCAA Championship earning Second Team All-American honors. He was also the PSAC champion in this event and broke the All-Time PSAC Indoor pole vault record with a jump of 17-4.5. Szeplaki earned All-Region honors and had the highest jump in Division II for a freshman. He joins 1987 National Champion Mike Cantrel, Schmitt (2000, 2001), Will Hodges (2010), Lanny Buck (2015), Xavier Feliciano (2019) and Joe Jardine (2024) as the Golden Bears to earn indoor pole vault All-American status.

Along with Szeplaki also earning All-PSAC First Team status,
Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) joined him on First Team in the 60m, and then
James Washburn (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) (400m),
Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) (mile),
Robby Lloyd (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) (5000m) and
Jaydon Witman (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) (60H) all earned Third Team recognition.
