EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Kutztown women's swimming split a tri-meet Saturday afternoon, defeating Montclair State 151-102, but then lost to East Stroudsburg 141-114 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition.
 
The Golden Bears are now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC.
 
Both relay teams finished their events in first place, with the 200 Medley Relay team, consisting of Sara Bing (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School), Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Maggie Russell (Downingtown, Pa./Woodlynde School), and the 400 Free Relay team of Russell, Ryleigh Czerwinski (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion), Armes and Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic) each placing first.
 
Zeminski also won two events as she touched the wall in 2:13.23 in the 200 Fly and 59.11 in the 100 Fly. Sara Bing (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) won the 200 Back in a time of 2:16.61. Kopcho, Bing, Armes, Zeminski, Russell and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) all earned PSAC qualifying times.
 
Kutztown will have a week off until the next time it hits the pool in another tri-meet, this time at Franklin & Marshall. KU will take on the Diplomats along with Millersville on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 12 p.m.
