Kutztown men find success on opening day of Bison Challenge and Multi

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Two Kutztown men's track & field athletes notched Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying standards, with one adding an NCAA Provisional mark to highlight day one of the Bison Challenge and Multi Friday at Bucknell University.

Andrew Szeplaki (Bath, Pa./Northampton) was at it again in the pole vault. The freshman from Northampton, who set the new program record two weeks ago at Alvernia, recorded another NCAA Provisional, winning the event with a best clearance of 5.05m (16-6.75). Jaydon Witman (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) also won his event, the 60m hurdles, with a PSAC time of 8.32.

The distance medley relay team consisting of Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall), Joe Cavalcante (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle College H.S.), Ryan Kenneff (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) and Willie Wiles (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) place third overall at 10:25.18.

Kymanni Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) improved upon his personal-best time of 22.28 in the 200m, still ranking ninth in program history. Daron Haggans (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Sean Singleton (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) finished fourth and sixth, respectively in that event. Cole Doms (Somerdale, N.J./Sterling) crossed the finish line in second in the 5000m at 15:38.18.
