McDonald picks up PSAC athlete of the week after stellar opening weekend

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Kutztown University women's soccer forward Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division Athlete of the Week on Monday following a strong set of games to open the 2025 season.

The Exton, Pa., native kicked off the season with a bang, notching a hat trick in the 4-1 victory over non-conference foe Concord. McDonald managed four shots on goal and six total shots in 66 minutes of action for KU. The senior forward started the 5-0 win at Mansfield, facilitating the Golden Bears' explosive offense in 35 minutes of action to open conference play.

McDonald was named to the All-PSAC East First Team a season ago, notching five goals and three assists while playing in 23 games for the Maroon and Gold. The four-year starter is among the program's career leaders in assists (17) while holding places in the all-time season leaderboards in both assists (10, 2023) and games played (23, 2024).

McDonald and the Golden Bears (2-0, 1-0 PSAC East) will continue PSAC East Division play with their home opener against Millersville on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. on Morgan's Message Night at Keystone Field.
