PREVIEW | No. 4 Women’s Soccer hosts Edinboro in PSAC quarterfinals

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – As the top seed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division, the Kutztown University women's soccer team begins its postseason journey Tuesday, Nov. 3, as the Golden Bears welcome Edinboro to Keystone Field for a 6 p.m., matchup in the PSAC quarterfinals.

Kutztown enters the postseason, ranked No. 4 nationally after putting together a 15-1-2 overall record and a 12-1-1 mark in conference play. The Golden Bears have won eight consecutive games heading into Tuesday's match and have suffered only one loss all season. The last time a Kutztown team finished the regular season with just one loss or less was in 2023, when the Maroon and Gold had an impressive 13-0-5 overall record and 12-0-4 mark in conference play at the end of the regular season.

The Golden Bears' lone setback came Sept. 19 against Bloomsburg, a 2-1 defeat on the road. Since then, KU has continued to build momentum, earning important conference victories, including a sweep of West Chester with a 1-0 win over the then-No. 4 Golden Rams on Sept. 23 and another 1-0 victory to close out the regular season on Oct. 28. Kutztown also avenged its earlier loss to Bloomsburg with a 1-0 victory on Oct. 17. The Golden Bears have demonstrated their ability to win close contests throughout the season, recording several one-goal victories against conference opponents, including East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, Bloomsburg and West Chester.

On Tuesday, Kutztown will face an Edinboro team that enters with a 9-8-2 overall record and an 8-7-1 in PSAC West Play, earning them the fourth seed in the PSAC West. The quarterfinal matchup presents another opportunity for the Golden Bears to continue their postseason success and take another step toward a conference championship.

Kutztown has established itself as a consistent contender in the PSAC, marking this season its sixth consecutive conference tournament appearance. The maroon and gold have reached the PSAC championship in each of the last two seasons and will look to carry that experience into this year's tournament as they pursue another championship opportunity.

Tickets are required for Tuesday's quarter final and must be purchased online through Hudl Tickets using the link on the Kutztown women's soccer schedule page. Ticket prices are set at $12 for adults and $7 for students in grades K-12. Students from PSAC Member Institutions with valid, current IDs will be admitted free of charge, as will PSAC Passholders. The event is cashless, and advance ticket purchases are encouraged. Tickets will also be available at the venue. All sales are final, with no refunds.

The winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal will face the winner of the game between the West second seed, Gannon, and the East third seed, Shepherd, on Friday, Nov 6, in the semifinal round. The host of the final two rounds is set to be the highest remaining seeded team in the West Division, or the top seed in the East Division if there are no remaining West Division teams.
