Made in the PSAC list honors three from Kutztown University

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Kutztown University had three former student-athletes named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's "Made in the PSAC" list as part of the league's 75th anniversary season in 2025-26.

"Made in the PSAC" honorees are former student-athletes from PSAC institutions that have gone on to influential careers after graduation, inside or outside of sport. The list is comprised of 75 individuals and is part of the conference's ongoing 75th anniversary celebration, in which it will recognize 300 of its most prominent contributors throughout the month of September and the fall of 2025.

Representing KU on the "Made in the PSAC" list are Dave Borden (football, 1999-2003), Liz DiLullo Brown (field hockey, 1993-97) and John Gabriel (men's basketball, 1976-78). Additionally, Kutztown's current head softball coach Judy Lawes was named to the list by her alma mater, Shippensburg.

Dave Borden
Football, 1999-2003
  • Received NCAA Inspiration Award in 2013
  • Survived attack and lost leg while serving with the Marine Corps in Iraq

Liz DiLullo Brown
Field Hockey, 1993-97
  • Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Office, Little League International
  • Helped grow multi-faceted relationship with Major League Baseball
  • Supported Little League's business relationships, including partnership with ESPN

John Gabriel
Men's Basketball, 1976-78
  • General Manager of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Orlando Magic from 1996-2003
  • Joined the Magic as their first employee in 1987
  • Served as assistant coach and director of player personnel prior to his promotion to GM

Judy Lawes
Nominated by Shippensburg University
Softball Coach, 1988-Present
  • Ninth-winningest coach in DII history (second in the PSAC) with 1,175 career victories
  • 2025 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee
  • Nine-time PSAC East Coach of the Year
  • Three-time Atlantic Region champion

"For 75 years, the PSAC has been more than a conference--it's been a proving ground for excellence, leadership, and lifelong impact," said PSAC Commissioner Steve Murray. "The "Made in the PSAC" honorees reflect the very best of what our institutions represent. Their achievements stand as a testament to the transformative power of Division II athletics and the values that define the PSAC: integrity, resilience, and a commitment to something greater than oneself."

The PSAC was founded on March 11, 1951, and comprised 14 institutions as the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Athletic Conference (PSTCAC). Since then, it has grown into one of the largest conferences in the NCAA across all three divisions.
 
The 75th anniversary celebration continues with the release of the 75 Greatest Female Athletes on Sep. 10, 75 Greatest Male Athletes on September 17, and Distinguished Keystones on September 24.
