BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Seniors
Naya Darnowski (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Township) and
Brianna Stocklin (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) each connected on two home runs as 16th-ranked Kutztown won game one 7-2 before Bloomsburg took game two 9-1 in five innings Friday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference doubleheader at Jan Hutchinson Field.

The Golden Bears improve to 31-12 overall and 15-9 in the PSAC.

Emily Henn (Matamoras, Pa./Delaware Valley) led the offense with four hits on the day and Darnowski finished with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored. Both of Stocklin's hits Friday were HRs and she added three RBIs and scored three runs.
Alexa Stevens (Covington Township, Pa./North Pocono) and
Samantha Paetow (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) each tallied two hits with Paetow contributing an RBI and Stevens scoring a run.

Haley Gravish (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) picked up the victory inside the circle for the Maroon and Gold, throwing the final 6.2 innings after coming on in relief in the bottom of the first. She did not allow an earned run and struck out five to improve to 19-5 this season.

Kutztown plays two at Lock Haven tomorrow, Saturday, April 19, with game one set to begin at 11 a.m.

Stocklin connected for two home runs to highlight the offensive display for Kutztown in the opener. Her first of the game came in the first at-bat of the game to give Kutztown an early 1-0 lead.

After three scoreless innings, Stocklin added her second four-bagger in the top of the fifth, bringing around
Jenna Piatkiewicz (Fogelsville, Pa./Parkland), who walked with one out the batter prior.

In the sixth, Stevens led off with a triple and then scored two batters later on an RBI groundout by Paetow. Darnowski added three more runs for good measure in the seventh inning with a home run over the center field wall.
Kristin Geesey (Bainbridge, Pa./Elizabethtown) led off the frame single and Stocklin walked.

Gravish limited the Huskies to just seven hits.

Bloomsburg 9, Kutztown 1 (5 inn.)

Kutztown's lone run came on a home run by Darnowski in the top of the third inning for her fourth RBI of the day and second long ball, that cut her team's deficit in half at 2-1.

Henn recorded three hits and both
Morgan Slomkowski (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and Paetow had one hit.

Kutztown used four different pitchers that combined to throw four innings.

Bloomsburg's scoring woke up in the nightcap after only scoring twice in the opener. The Huskies brought in two runs in their first at-bats in the bottom of the first on an RBI triple and single.

Leading now just 2-1 in the bottom of the third after Darnowski's HR, BU blitzed the Golden Bears in the third and fourth innings to the tune of seven runs in those two frames. Starting pitcher, Sarah Yamrick, shut down the door in the top of the fifth inning to end the game early for her team. She allowed just six hits and the one run, striking out three for the win.
