Henn honored on PSAC Spring Top 10

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Junior Emily Henn (Matamoras, Pa./Delaware Valley) of Kutztown softball earned a prestigious honor on Thursday as she was voted onto the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Spring Top 10.

The PSAC Top 10 was introduced during the 1997-98 academic year. The PSAC's sports information directors nominate and vote and the 10 best are awarded to male and female student-athletes that excel in both the classroom and athletic competition at the conclusion of the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons. To be a candidate for the Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.

Thursday's announcement gives Kutztown a female Top-10 recipient for the first time since the Fall of 2023, when former field hockey player, Sarah Gatehouse was recognized. She is also the first softball student-athlete to earn the award since Tamara Jennings in spring of 2019. Henn is KU's 24th female Top-10 honoree since the awards were initiated during the 1997-98 academic year.

Henn, a junior from Matamoras, is an elementary education major, and has a 3.86 GPA. This season, she was voted the PSAC East Athlete of the Year and was All-PSAC East First Team and NFCA and D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team. Henn led the PSAC in hits (94) and doubles (20) and ranked eighth in the NCAA in hits, ranked second in runs scored (61) and triples (6) and was sixth in batting average (.413) and 10th in slugging percentage (.676). She ranks third in program history for hits in a season. She holds program career record for triples (15), while ranking top five in total bases (385) and batting average (.393).

In the classroom, Henn is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete member, an NFCA Scholar-Athlete All-American, a Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society inductee and a KU Dean's List student.
