KUTZTOWN, Pa. – On the heels of a program-record 11th victory, the Kutztown women's basketball team is listed in the initial NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, released with teams in alphabetical order late Wednesday.
 
The NCAA regional rankings ultimately determine the team's selected to the NCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament. They will happen every Wednesday until the NCAA Selection Show, which is set for March 9.
 
The Golden Bears (17-10 overall, 12-6 PSAC) boast a 17-8 in-region record and are joined in the first ranking release by fellow conference members California (Pa.), Edinboro, Gannon, IUP, Lock Haven and Seton Hill. Fairmont State from the Mountain East Conference and both Fayetteville State and Virginia State from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
 
There are 64 teams that get selected and eight regions. The eight teams from the Atlantic Region will play at the site of the top seed in a single-elimination format with the quarterfinal round beginning Friday, March 14.
