PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Four members of the Kutztown indoor men's track & field team moved into the top-10 in program history in their respective events Saturday to highlight competition at the Widener Indoor Classic in Philadelphia.
Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) ran to a 6.73 to win the 60m and improved upon his school record in the event. He also had a 21.93 in the 200m, which ranks fourth.
Jack Hollar's (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) 15:16.42 in the 5000m ranks fifth all-time at KU.
Robby Lloyd (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) had a 8:39.31 in the 3000m, which is fourth all-time in program history.
Jake Kelly's (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) best throw of 16.22m (53-2.75), is sixth-best in KU lore.
There were 11 other Golden Bears that had successful days with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying standards in their events.
Sean Singleton (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Daron Haggans (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) both earned PSAC marks in the 60m, while
Kyle Love (Lansdowne, Pa./Bonner-Prendergast) achieved the feat in the 60m hurdles.
Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) in the mile,
Steele Wrigley (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) in the 400m,
Joe Cavalcante (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) in the 200m,
Nate Schaeffer (Mohrsville, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) and
Caleb Tryninewski (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) in the pole vault,
Kyle Archie (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) and
TJ White (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) in the high jump and
Gabe Sample (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) in the long jump, rounded out the PSAC qualifying performers.
Kutztown will compete in its final meet of the indoor regular season next Friday, Feb. 21, and it will be at home as KU hosts its annual Golden Bear Invitational at O'Pake Fieldhouse.
