Fellin sets school record, NCAA provisional time in the 60m as Golden Bears secure five event victories at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's track & field team closed out the Bucknell Bison Open & Multi with a number of standout performances, Saturday, highlighted by Michael Fellin's (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) record-breaking and NCAA provisional time in the 60-meter dash, Kyle Archie's (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) NCAA provisional mark in the high jump, and five first-place finishes.

Fellin dominated the 60m finals, crossing the line in 6.76 seconds, earning first place, a PSAC qualifying time, NCAA provisional time, and rewriting the KU record books as the fastest in program history. Teammate Daron Haggans (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) followed in second at 7.01 seconds, also achieving a PSAC qualifying time.

Archie made his mark in the high jump, clearing 2.04m (6'8.25") to secure his third event victory in four meets, another PSAC qualifying standard and NCAA provisional mark, and the fifth-best jump in KU history. TJ White (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) took second in the event, clearing 1.85m (6'0.75").

Back on the track, Steele Wrigley (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) and James Washburn (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) delivered PSAC cut times in the 400m, placing second and third in 50.45 and 50.58 seconds, respectively. Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) secured a PSAC qualifying time in the mile, clocking in at 4:24.07 for sixth-place, while Connor Murphy (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) set a personal record in the mile with a time of 4:27.67.

Kutztown's field athletes continued to impress, too. Trey Hamlin III (Townsend, Del./Caravel Academy) once again surpassed the PSAC's qualifying standard on his way to victory in the triple jump at 14.17m (46'6"). The freshman also placed second in the long jump at 6.84m (22'5.25"). In the throwing events, Jake Kelly (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) finished third in the shot put with a PSAC qualifying mark of 14.82m (48'7.50"), while Jacob Solonoski (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) set a PSAC mark in the weight throw with a top toss of 16.68m (54'8.75") to finish fourth.

Distance runner Port Habalar (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) etched his name into KU's all-time records, winning the 1000m in 2:34.77, sixth-best in program history. Owen Weaver (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) finished ninth in the two-day heptathlon with 4,202 points.

Following a successful weekend at Bucknell, Kutztown will now turn its focus to next weekend's Sykes & Sabock Invitational at Penn State University.
