KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) improved on her own 50-yard freestyle program record on Senior Day inside Keystone Natatorium as the Kutztown University women's swim team split a tri-meet against the Arcadia Knights and Kean Cougars on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (5-4) scored a 188-65 win over Arcadia (0-8) before falling to Kean (5-0), 161-96.

Soto recorded the first sub 24-second swim of her career, besting her previous program 50 free record of 24.16 set back at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

Freshman Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic) won the 1000 free with the eighth-best time in school history, a 10:46.86, and later completed the sweep of the distance free events with a victory in the 500 free (5:20.16).

Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) joined Kopcho as the Golden Bears' event winners, taking the 200 butterfly in 2:12.87. She added a runner-up finish in the 100 fly (58.94).

Six KU swimmers achieved PSAC cut times with Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape), Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) joining Soto, Kopcho and Zeminski.

Prior to Saturday's meet, the Golden Bears recognized nine student-athletes on the team's Senior Day.

Kutztown returns to the pool in 2026, when they travel to Newville, Pa., for the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational and PSAC Last Chance Meet, hosted by IUP at Big Spring High School on Saturday, Jan. 17. Competition is scheduled to start at noon.
