COLONIA, N.J. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team closed out the fall portion of its 2025-26 season with a 7-3 mark at the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational, where tournament MVP
Kamryn Brenneman (York, Pa./Central York) and top 20 finisher
Ashley Kuster (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) turned in performances worthy of East Coast Conference weekly honors.
Â
Brenneman claimed the ECC's Bowler of the Week recognition, while Kuster took home her first ECC Rookie of the Week award.
Â
Brenneman, a second-year bowler from York, Pa., turned in a tournament-best 224.4 pinfall average across five games on Saturday, boasting a 92 percent fill rate and an 82.6 percent spare conversion rate to lead the Golden Bears to a perfect opening day. The reigning conference Rookie of the Year carried her success over to Sunday, averaging 18.23 pins per frame while stepping up her performance as the anchor bowler, rolling a 19.46 average and 83.3 percent fill rate in 24 frames in that position on the second day.
Â
Kuster had a strong Saturday, headlined by a day-high 201 in Kutztown's 907-785 victory over Chestnut Hill while securing a 78 percent fill rate and 90 percent single pin spare conversion mark in traditional play. The first-year bowler turned in a 17.33 average per frame in Sunday's five baker matches, including a team-high 69.2 percent first ball mark and a 71.4 percent spare conversion rate to cap off the weekend for KU.
Â
This is the first major weekly honor for both bowlers, and the second time the Golden Bears have garnered each weekly award from the conference. Brenneman was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll after her performance at the Golden Bear Invite, while two different Golden Bears earned awards after the first and second tournaments.
Â
The Golden Bears finished the fall season with a 20-5 record, winning 80 percent of games while finishing with just five losses, achieving both for the first time in the program's illustrious 18-year history.
Â
The Kutztown keglers make their return to the lanes at the Northeast Classic at the Bowlerama in New Castle, Del., from Friday, Jan. 16, to Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026.
