BOCA RATON, Fla. – Kutztown softball recorded double digit hits in both games Tuesday afternoon and scored in double figures in each as it swept a double header at Lynn University by scores of 11-1 (6 inn.) and 10-5.

Through two days in Florida, the Golden Bears (12-3 overall) are 3-1. They have won six of their last seven games overall.

Kutztown combined for 24 hits on the day, 12 in each game, the most in a two-game day this season, as well as scoring the most runs in a two-game set this season as well in 21.

Alexa Stevens (Covington Township, Pa./North Pocono) had a day at the plate, finishing 6-for-8 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
Kristin Geesey (Bainbridge, Pa./Elizabethtown) went 4-for-4 with four RBIs in game two.
Jenna Piatkiewicz (Fogelsville, Pa./Parkland) was 3-for-4, scoring three runs and knocking in two batters in game one.
Emily Henn (Matamoras, Pa./Delaware Valley),
Brianna Stocklin (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township),
Naya Darnowski (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Township),
Makenna Balay (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) and
Morgan Slomkowski (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) all tallied two hits Tuesday.

Freshman
Allyson Koerner (Clayton, N.J./Clayton) made her first collegiate start inside the circle in the opener and also earned her first victory in Maroon and Gold, throwing all six innings, allowing just four hits and striking out three. The lone run she gave up was unearned.
Haley Gravish (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) picked up the victory in relief in game two, throwing the final 3.1 innings of shutout ball, allowing just one hit for her fifth victory of the season.

Day three of the spring break trip down south sees Kutztown play two games at Barry University tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13, with game one beginning at 3 p.m.

Kutztown led from start to finish, bringing home three runs in both the top of the first and second innings, sending seven and eight batters to the plate, respectively. A Knights error allowed two of the three runs in the first and then a Stevens double brought around the third. Piatkiewicz and Henn tallied run-scoring singles in the second and another error tacked on the third run of the second.

Lynn scored its lone run in the bottom-half of the second and after two scoreless innings followed,
Hannah Reimel (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) had an RBI on a groundout for her team's seventh run. The game was won after a four-run, top of the sixth inning from the Golden Bears, highlighted by RBI singles from Piatkiewicz, Stevens and Balay, along with a run-scoring double by Slomkowski.

KU actually started from behind as Lynn scored a run in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead. Geesey tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single in the second, but the Knights responded with two runs in the bottom-half.

Stevens tied the game once again with a two-run single in the third that put the score at 3-3. After Slomkowski touched home following a wild pitch, Geesey ripped a double that allowed Stevens to come home for a 5-3 lead.

Lynn tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, but the Maroon and Gold scored three runs in the fifth, highlighted by a run-scoring single by Geesey. Slomkowski and Geesey both contributed RBI hits in the sixth to cap the scoring.
