KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University women's swimming has been recognized by The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team for their academic performance in fall semester.

The 18 Golden Bears combined for a 3.28 GPA, which earned them a spot on the prestigious list.

KU was one of 74 Scholar All-America teams honored among Women Division II teams.

Among all levels of collegiate swimming, 783 teams were honored from 461 different institutions, representing 18,716 student-athletes.

To earn Scholar All-America status, a team must record a semester GPA of at least 3.0.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America - is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.

The Maroon and Gold are 6-4 overall and 5-3 in PSAC meets.

Kutztown concluded its regular season meets last weekend at home and will now set its sights on the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships next week. The four-day event from Keystone Aquatic Center in Carlisle takes place from Wednesday, Feb. 14, through Saturday, Feb. 17.
