PREVIEW | Kutztown Hosts Men’s Cross Country Conference Championships

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championships are set to be hosted by Kutztown University at the North Campus Farm Loop Cross Country Course on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.

The 8k men's competition will feature 14 teams that begin racing at 10 a.m. at the Kutztown Rugby Field, where the race will start and finish.

Last season's event, hosted by Bloomsburg University, saw Shippensburg claim the team championships, snapping a five-year run for the Edinboro men's squad. The Golden Bears seek their first team and individual championship in program history.

The Kutztown men's team had a strong showing throughout the season, headlined by a second-place team finish at the home DII/DIII Challenge. Junior Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) leads the Golden Bears with a pair of top-15 finishes on the year, while juniors Robby Lloyd (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and Jacob Huber (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) ran stellar outings throughout the season.

In the latest regional polls from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, Shippensburg is ranked third, while Slippery Rock currently holds the fifth position. The PSAC preseason poll featured both teams at the top of the pack entering the season.

Live timing and streaming pages, as well as the PSAC Championship's homepage, can be found at the attached links.

Competitors from the PSAC Cross Country Championships will look to advance to the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships on Nov. 9 at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa., with the hopes of making it to the NCAA DII Championships at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif on Nov. 23.
