SINKING SPRING, Pa. – Kutztown women's bowling had just the start it had hoped for at its annual home event. KU won all five of its traditional matches Saturday to climb on top of the overall team standings after day one of the Golden Bear Invitational at Berks Lanes in Sinking Spring.

The Golden Bears (16-7 overall) went 5-0 and amassed a total of 4,666 points and a 186.6 average per match. The five matches were 933-869 over Dominican (N.Y.), 907-790 over Holy Family, 868-822 over Wagner, 947-791 over Adelphi and 1,011-966 over Mercyhurst to conclude the day.

Freshman
Kamryn Brenneman (York, Pa./Central York) leads the pack of 78 total bowlers with a total of 1,035 points and an average of 207 in five matches. Her high score of 237 came in the second match and is tied for the highest on the day with Caldwell's Lauren Marks.
Ally Sipe (York, Pa./Central York) is also inside the top-10 at eighth with 933 points and an average of 186.60.

Megan Hanaway (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) is 18th with an average of 179.40.
Sydney Snyder (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) ranks 22nd at 177.60.
Chloe Sromovski (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) finished Saturday 46th with a 208.33 average in three matches.
Shelby Wunch (Easton, Md./Easton) rounded out the lineup in 67th with an average of 144 in two matches.

Play tomorrow begins at 9:15 a.m., and will be four Baker matches followed by a best-of-seven place match. KU's four baker matches are against Molloy, Felician, Belmont Abbey and Wilmington.
