No. 7 women’s soccer earns second clean sheet of the season in 0-0 draw against East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Despite controlling the offensive flow for the majority of the contest, the seventh-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team (5-0-2, 4-0-01 PSAC East) failed to find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw against East Stroudsburg (4-1-1, 2-1-1 PSAC East) Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

It was the second straight game where the Golden Bears dictated the flow of the game, but they struggled in the final third. KU had a significant advantage in the shots department, outshooting the Warriors 22-7. Despite that, KU only had the 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Bears also had the 7-1 advantage on corners.

Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) and Lexy Endres (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) were at the heart of everything attacking-wise for KU. In 72 minutes of action, McDonald ended the game with seven shots, four of which were on-frame. Endres had six shots, with two on goal. Joslyn Stoltz (Levittown, Pa./Calvary Christian Academy) was the only other Golden Bear with multiple shots, registering two in the game

On the defensive side, the Golden Bears pitched their second shutout of the season. Cassandra Baker (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) started in between the sticks for KU, making four saves. The Harrisburg, Pa. native made one of her best saves towards the end of the contest, denying the Warriors off a free kick heading towards the top corner with a few minutes remaining. Emmy Clarkson made six saves for ESU.

The Golden Bears still sit atop the PSAC East standings as the only unbeaten team in the entire conference. KU is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23 as they make the trip to West Virginia to play Shepherd. That game will kick off at noon.
