Box Score

WILSON, N.C. --The Kutztown University baseball team (4-3) dropped a contest against The College of Saint Rose (2-5) 15-4 at the Wilson Tobs Tournament down in Wilson, N.C. Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears then started a game against Glenville State, but it was suspended due to an injury of a Glenville State player. Scheduling information on the suspended game has yet to be determined.

KU is currently slated to play The College of Saint Rose again tomorrow, Sunday, March 5 at 10 a.m., before matching up against Glenville State at 1:30 p.m.

Game 1: Saint Rose 15, Kutztown 4

The Golden Knights scored in bunches, with a five-run second and eight-run seventh inning catapulting the College of Saint Rose to the 15-4 victory. The KU pitching staff allowed 18 hits in the loss.

KU got the scoring going in the top half of the first inning. Mitchell Peers (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) ripped a ball to center field, which scored Ethan Martini (Trevose, Pa./Father Judge) and Gavin Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) to make it 2-0. Saint Rose responded with their five-run second inning. The Golden Knights then tacked on a run in the fifth and sixth, before the eight-run outburst in the seventh inning.

The Golden Bears put two runs across the plate in the top of the ninth, but that was all KU could muster as the game ended 15-4 in favor of Saint Rose.

Zach Male (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) got the start on the bump for KU, going six innings while striking out six. He took the loss, while Chase Carroll earned the win for Saint Rose. At the plate, Peers registered two hits and two RBI, while Martini and Colin Kelly (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) had one hit each.
