Golden Bears struggle in 89-59 loss to Millersville

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University men's basketball team (5-16, 5-11 PSAC) fell at Keystone Arena Monday night to Millersville (15-8, 12-5 PSAC) 89-59.

Robert Tucker (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) led the way for KU, netting 15 points and grabbing five boards in 32 minutes of action. Kyree Generett (York, Pa./William Penn) was the only other Golden Bear in double-figures with 14 points. Brendan Boyle (Allentown, Pa./Notre Dame) had a good showing in limited minutes, scoring nine. Josh Samec (Tresckow, Pa./Hazleton) grabbed a team-high five rebounds. 

The Golden Bears struggled on the offensive side of the floor throughout the contest, shooting 36% compared to Millersville's 52%. 12 Marauders registered points in the game, as Millersville got scoring from all parts of its rotation and went on a few runs in the first half to take a 43-24 lead into the break. KU saw a slight improvement in the second half, but Millersville shot 60% from the floor and pulled away for the 89-59 win.

KU is back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 8 against Shippensburg. That game will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
