Men’s track & field finishes fourth at PSAC Indoor Championships, highest finish since 2019

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- An amazing all-around performance on Sunday vaulted the Kutztown University men's track and field team to fourth place at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championship, hosted at Bucknell University.

Freshman Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) followed up a strong showing on Saturday, finishing second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.93. That time was the same as his Saturday finish and is tied for the third fastest time in program history. Kyle Love (Lansdowne, Pa./Bonner-Prendergast) also made some noise in his 60-meter hurdle final performance. Love finished fourth with a time of 8.40, which is tied for the third-best in KU history.

Owen Weaver (Baldwinsville, Pa./C.W. Baker) was arguably the Golden Bear's most impressive performer over the course of the weekend. The freshman competed in the heptathlon and recorded the second-highest score in program history (4538), which was good enough for fourth place. The Baldwinsville, Pa. native also set a personal best in six of seven events. Darien Clarke (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) was KU's other representative in the heptathlon and finished 14th.

The 4x400-meter relay team of James Washburn (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River), Matt Salazar (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills), JT Tamayo (Reading, Pa./Wilson), and Domenick Wallace (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) were the other Golden Bears' on the podium Sunday. They finished third with a time of 3:24.16.

Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) improved upon his personal best time in the mile, finishing sixth with a time of 4:21.60. That mark is the eighth-best in program history. James Washburn (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) set a personal record in the 400 meters final with a time of 50.03, good enough for fourth place. Anthony DeFusco (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 14.10 meters (46'3.25"). Domenick Wallace (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) earned three points with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meters.

The Golden Bears wrap up the indoor season with their highest finish at the indoor championships since 2019. KU will now turn its attention to the outdoor season. That season will kick off on Friday, March 17 at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, Va.
