NEW CASTLE, Del. – Kutztown women's bowling finished off traditional play Saturday with a victory, splitting its four games on day two of the Wilmington-hosted Wildcat DII Invitational.

The Golden Bears, ranked 15th in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association DII/DIII Poll, lost the opening game of the day against Daemen, but bounced back in the next game with a 917-805 victory over Caldwell. KU fell to D'Youville in the third game before ending Saturday with its highest point total in an 815-598 win against Holy Family.

Sydney Snyder (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic),
Jordan Dean (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) and
Megan Hanaway (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) bowled in all five games (the first game was an open round).
Ally Sipe (York, Pa./Central York) rolled to the highest total of the day, bowling a 237 against D'Youville. Hanaway's best score of 222 was the Maroon and Gold's highest score in a win, coming against Holy Family.
Chloe Sromovski (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) competed in three of the four competitive games and both
Alexis Schweizer (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and
Meghan Ripley (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) bowled in one game for KU.

Hanaway, Snyder and Dean all rank inside the top-30 overall out of 83 bowlers with at least an average of 168 or higher in the five games (including the bye). Kutztown ranks seventh overall as a team with an average of 174.3 and 8,713 points in nine games so far this weekend, going 5-4.

The three-day Invitational finishes up Sunday, Feb. 19, with best-of-seven bracket play. Kutztown opens with Bloomfield in the First Round.
