SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The 13th-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team (3-0, 2-0 PSAC) remained perfect in 2022 following a 1-0 victory away at Shippensburg (0-3, 0-2 PSAC) on Saturday afternoon. It's the third straight shutout for the Golden Bears, who have outscored opponents 7-0 over the three-game stretch.
Becca Delp's (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) first career goal in the 52nd-minute goal was the difference in the contest. A free kick from outside the box ended up leading to a scramble in the box. Senior defender Kylee MacLeod (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was able to take the ball down and slide it to a wide-open Delp, who slotted it home for the game-winning goal
The defense was stellar yet again for Kutztown, limiting Shippensburg to three shots on goal in the game. Emme Wolfel (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) recorded her third clean sheet of the season, making a season-high three saves.
It's the team's ninth straight win over Shippensburg and ninth straight regular-season win in the PSAC dating back to Oct. 13, 2021. All seven goals so far this season have been scored by seven different players.
The Golden Bears are back on the road for a midweek clash against East Stroudsburg this Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. before returning home next Saturday to host Mansfield.
