Men's basketball places four on NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four Kutztown University men's basketball players were recognized for their academic performance by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Tuesday morning.

Julian Boykins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph), Wesley Butler (Reading, Pa./Reading), Kyree Generett (York, Pa./William Penn) and Evan-Eric Longino (Furlong, Pa./Germantown Academy) were among more than 2,000 players from all levels of college basketball nationwide to earn a spot on the 2021-22 NABC Honors Court.

Honors Court recipients needed to appear on their 2021-22 varsity roster, be juniors, seniors, or graduate students academically and hold a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher.

"Academic success is a core value of the NABC and a priority shared by men's basketball programs across the country," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Excellence in the classroom requires hard work and dedication, and the NABC considers it a privilege to honor these deserving student-athletes and the coaches and staff who support them."

Butler led the Golden Bears in scoring (14.9 points per game), 3-pointers made (35), assists (3.2 apg), steals (1.7 spg) and minutes per game (32.8) during his junior academic year. The Reading, Pa., native and communication studies major has already racked up 853 points in 51 career games over two seasons (16.7 ppg).

Generett, a senior guard from York, Pa., played in 20-plus games for the third straight season and started a career-high seven. An elementary education (math and social studies) major, Generett averaged career-bests of 7.2 points per game, 1.6 assists per game and an .863 free throw percentage (44-of-51).
