UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Kutztown University track & field teams sent a small contingent of athletes to Penn State for Friday's Jim Thorpe Invitational and despite less than ideal conditions,
Giordanovenchy Cerisier (North Wales, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) established a PSAC qualifying time in the 3000-meter steeplechase, while pole vaulters
Ally Tama (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) and
Myah Davies (New Market, Md./Linganore) once again surpassed the conference qualifying standard.
Cerisier finished second of six runners in the steeplechase, completing the race in a personal best 10:08.22 to secure a spot at next weekend's PSAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Millersville.
Savaughn Hebron (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) also represented the KU men, taking part in the 400m where he was posted the fifth best time of 50.65, one hundredth of a second off his PR.
On the women's side, Tama and Davies shared fourth in the pole vault, each clearing 3.69m (12'1.25"). Both student-athletes previously qualified for the PSAC meet.
In the 400m hurdles,
Angela Iaccarino (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) ran a 1:10.91.
