KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University track & field will host a jumps camp, July 31 through August 3, at Andre Reed Stadium and the O'Pake Fieldhouse, where campers will have the opportunity to learn from an accomplished and experienced lineup of coaches from the region and beyond. The camp is open to boys & girls entering grades 9-12.
Campers will receive specific instruction on the event(s) of their choice. They will be evaluated and taught drills to improve their technique in the high jump, long jump, triple jump and/or pole vault. Video will also be used so jumpers can visually see what adjustments need to be made. Campers will be given drills, shown lifts and hear from speakers to take home valuable information with them so they can have a better understanding of how to be successful in the jumping events.
Current Golden Bears assistant coach
Amy Filanowski will serve as the camp director. Filanowski has been with Kutztown since the 2018-19 season, where she oversees the jumpers and multi-event athletes. During her time on staff, multiple Golden Bears have achieved school records, program top 10 marks and become PSAC champions.
KU pole vault coach
Tony Dodds, Bucknell University assistant coach Ozzie Brown and Cornell University assistant coach Jacky Mendes are confirmed coaches along with Filanowski for the camp.
The residential rate for this year's camp is $395, while the commuter rate is $320. For more information and necessary waiver and health forms,
