KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Top-seed Kutztown University softball will take on second seed, Seton Hill in a best-of-three series in the NCAA Division II Super Regionals later this week at North Campus Field for a chance at a trip to Denver, Colo., and the NCAA Championships from May 26-31.

The Golden Bears (40-13 overall) are having a historic season so far, winning the most games in a season in 10 years (52 wins in 2012). They won all three of their games last weekend at Regionals to advance to advance to Super Regionals for the first time since 2013. KU is riding a nine-game win streak, the longest this season. It is the third appearance for the Golden Bears in the Super Regionals.

Kutztown and Seton Hill have met four times in history with the teams splitting 2-2. The last meeting, the only one in the postseason, happened in the 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament, a 5-1 victory for the Griffins (39-10).

PSAC Tournament MVP,
Kate Ostaszewski (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), leads the KU lineup, hitting .366 on the year.
Brianna Stocklin (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) is batting .357 and leads the Maroon and Gold with 65 hits.
Hannah Auvil (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point),
Jenna Lipowski (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke Area),
Alyssa Donato (Cedarville, N.J./Cumberland Regional) and
Brianna Hughes (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) are also hitting above .300 this season.

Kuztown will look to advance to its first NCAA Division II Championships since 2013. The finals will be held May 26-31, at the Assembly Athletic Complex in Denver and will be hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver.
