KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University athletics has partnered with the Kutztown Tavern and Golden Avalanche Brewing Company (GABCO) to bring a beer garden to Andre Reed Stadium.
 
The beer garden will debut at the Homecoming football game against West Chester this Saturday, Oct. 24, and will also be open during the final regular season home game against Bloomsburg Saturday, Nov. 7.
 
Kutztown Tavern has been a fixture in downtown Kutztown since 1999, serving the community, KU students, alumni and visitors for more than 25 years. GABCO operates out of the Kutztown Tavern just a short distance from the KU campus producing a variety of flagship, rotating and seasonal craft beers.
 
The introduction of a beer garden at Andre Reed Stadium gives fans an opportunity to enjoy a selection of Golden Avalanche craft beers, adding a new social element to the gameday experience.
 
In September 2025, Kutztown Tavern transitioned to new ownership by longtime employees Bart Fenstermacher, Darren Calaman, and Aaron Hoppes, who have spent decades helping shape the business. That same spirit of continuity and innovation extends to GABCO with longtime employee, Colton Hehnly, stepping into the role of head brewer. Since taking the helm, he has transformed the brewing process and elevated the brewery's offerings, introducing fresh ideas and approaches while staying true to the brewery's roots. Together, these transitions reflect a renewed commitment to quality, innovation, and the traditions that have made Kutztown Tavern a community staple for more than 25 years.
 
Located at the west end of the stadium between the main grandstand and scoreboard, the beer garden will open one hour prior to kickoff (11 a.m.) and serve drinks through the end of the third quarter. No alcohol is allowed in the stadium outside of the beer garden. Fans must be 21 or older to enter the beer garden and must have valid ID.
 
Kutztown Tavern and GABCO plan to offer the following drinks at Andre Reed Stadium:
- Blonde Lager
- Blueberry Lager
- Gold Rush IPA
- Wildwood Days Hard Teas

Drinks will be priced at $7 for a 16 oz. cup, with cash and credit cards accepted.
 
Following the game, fans can visit the Kutztown Tavern at 272 West Main Street for a full food and drink menu. Kutztown Tavern is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday.
