Kutztown introduces Clear Bag Policy for football games beginning Oct. 10

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Kutztown University introduced a Clear Bag Policy for all future football games at Andre Reed Stadium, Wednesday, which will go into effect beginning Saturday, Oct. 10, when the Golden Bears take on Lackawanna.

The Clear Bag Policy limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into Andre Reed Stadium. It is being put into place to foster a safer environment for the public and expedite fan entry.

There are no restrictions on bags at other KU athletic facilities, however, bags may be subject to search upon entry to any facility at any time.

APPROVED BAGS
Fans will be able to carry the following bags, packages, or containers into the venue:
  • Clear Plastic, Vinyl, or PVC Bags: Must not exceed 12"x6"x12". Logo or branding on one side of the bag must not obscure the visibility of the contents OR
  • Plastic Freezer Bags: One-gallon clear plastic, re-sealable storage bags (Ziploc style or similar)
AND
  • Small Clutch Bags: Small purses, clutches, or wallets, approximately the size of a hand, not exceeding 4.5"x6.5", with or without a handle or strap. These may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.

PROHIBITED BAGS & ITEMS
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:
  • Traditional backpacks, cinch bags, and fanny packs that are not clear
  • Briefcases, luggage, and computer bags
  • Camera bags or binocular cases (cameras and binoculars themselves are permitted)
  • Tinted or patterned plastic bags
  • Purses or totes larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
  • Coolers

EXCEPTIONS
  • Medical Bags: Necessary medical items and equipment are permitted after a proper search at a designated gate
  • Diaper Bags: Diaper bags accompanying infants or toddlers are permitted but are subject to inspection at the gate
  • Strollers
  • Phones, cameras, and keys can be carried in your pockets or hands without a bag
  • Loose clothing – jackets, blankets, seat cushions without pockets
  • Participants (players, coaches, band, spirit squads) and credentialed staff may bring in bags, but all bags are subject to search

PROCESS
  • All allowed bags will be searched by security staff at the gates
  • Prohibited bags must go back to your vehicle or get stored outside the gates
