Lloyd earns second PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week award of the season

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Antaun Lloyd (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) of the 21st-ranked Kutztown University football team was recognized as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season following his performance in the Golden Bears' 30-7 win over Millersville last Saturday. The league office announced its weekly award winners Monday morning.

Lloyd registered a pair of interceptions, including a fourth-quarter pick six, as the Golden Bears clinched a spot in the PSAC Championship Game for the second straight season by beating the Marauders for the 11th consecutive season.

With Millersville closing in on the red zone in the third quarter, Lloyd picked off Marauder quarterback Jack Stagaard at the KU 20 to end the threat. On the opening play of the fourth quarter, Lloyd got Stagaard again, taking his second interception back 35 yards for the score --Kutztown's first pick six since 2018.

Lloyd doubled his season interception total to four and now shares the PSAC lead with Seton Hill's Damonte Pratt and Shippensburg's Trey Paul. The redshirt junior from Ambler, Pa., also recorded one tackle against Millersville.

Lloyd's previous honor came Sept. 27, after he registered an interception and returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown in a win over then-No. 10 Shepherd.

Kutztown (8-0, 6-0 PSAC East), which has already clinched a share of the PSAC East title, can claim the division outright with a victory at West Chester this coming Saturday, Nov. 6.
