2020 Kutztown University Women’s Soccer Recruiting Class

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University head women's soccer coach Erik Burstein welcomes 17 incoming players comprising the Golden Bears' 2020 recruiting class on Thursday.

"This class is much larger than we originally planned for, but we had the opportunity to add some very talented players," said Burstein. "I believe they will really add an important dynamic to our program. Collectively this is a very good group of players who can impact our program in many ways. They will add much needed competition to our current squad, they will push for immediate playing time, they will add much needed depth in all areas of the field and they have the potential to grow into one of our deepest and most talented recruiting classes ever."

The Golden Bears finished the 2019 season at 11-7 overall and 9-7 in the PSAC, ending the season with three straight wins and five-of-six. KU has now won 10 or more games in 18 straight seasons. Kutztown has played in the NCAA tournament in eight of the last 11 years and has earned a berth in the conference championship tournament 11 of the last 12 seasons.

"Although I am very excited about this group of players, and really look forward to working with them, they do face some very difficult challenges this year as they enter our program during a very unprecedented time," Burstein said. "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our preparations for the new season will be very different this summer. With so many safety measures being implemented into our training sessions, it will be absolutely vital that this freshman class arrive in very good physical condition, are completely focused during each and every training session and can handle the stress of being a college freshman while adjusting to a very different way of training and developing. With that said, I am completely confident they will quickly adapt and will make the impact I believe they are capable of."
