KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University baseball team is under a new regime in 2020 and has hit the ground running so far this season. KU has won four of its first six games, with the lone two losses coming by a combined four runs.

The Golden Bears (4-2 overall), under first-year head coach
Eric Folmar, will play eight games over their spring break, including opening up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) portion of their schedule. Kutztown will play three games this weekend (two Saturday, one Sunday) at Salem University, followed by a doubleheader at Slippery Rock University on Wednesday, March 11, before beginning conference action against Bloomsburg University next weekend. KU will play one at Bloomsburg on Friday, March 13, before playing at Keystone Field for the first time this year against the Huskies for two the following day.

Kutztown's bats have had the spring feel from the opening pitch of the season. In two of its four wins KU has combined for 28 runs, and has recorded at least seven runs in three-of-the-four. Kutztown is sixth in the PSAC in batting average (.314) and slugging percentage (.459).

Two-time PSAC East Division Athlete of the Week
Collin Bishop (Laurel Springs, N.J./Highland Regional) has bounced back admirably from an injury that forced him to miss most of last season. He leads the league with a .667 average and 1.095 slugging percentage, while his .652 on-base percentage is second-highest.
Gavin Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) has five hits in 10 at-bats, while
Antonio Rossillo (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood),
Zach Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) and
Jake Augustus (Fogelsville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) all are hitting above the .3000 threshold on the year, with
Greg Power (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) (.294) knocking at the door.

On the bump,
Doug Conrad (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown West) boasts a flawless 2-0 record and a 1.75 ERA.
Dominic Proietto (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) is unbeaten at 1-0 and has a 3.28 ERA in 10.2 innings, while
Matt Ziminsky (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one start this season.
Zach Peters (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) has one save to his name.

Salem is 7-7 overall and sports a six-game win streak entering this weekend. Rock is 3-1 and plays four games this weekend in Cary, N.C. Bloomsburg is currently 4-1 with four games this weekend at Goldey-Beacom College.
