EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Keara Bedson (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) earned a new Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time in winning the 200-breaststroke to highlight the Kutztown University women's swim team Saturday afternoon at the ESU Invitational, hosted by East Stroudsburg University.
 
The Golden Bears swam a smaller lineup in their regular season finale, looking to head into the PSAC Championships in the middle of the month healthy.
 
Five other KU swimmers finished in the top-two of their individual events, including Cara Green (Hanover, Pa./South Western) in the 100-back, Keelie Walker (York, Pa./York Suburban) in the 200-fly, Emmarose DeCaro (Apex, N.C./Apex) in the 200-back, Megan Hayward (Meshoppen, Pa./Tunkhannock) in the 500-free and Jocelyn Seidt (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) in the 200-IM. Green also swam the 100-back time trial.
 
Kutztown has a little over two weeks off of competition to prepare for the PSAC Championships in York. The four-day event starts on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
