CHESTER, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team competed in the Collegiate Rugby Championship's Challenge field final four, finishing fourth in the field Sunday afternoon in Chester.

The Golden Bears were downed by Northeastern in the Challenge semifinals 22-10, and then fell to Delaware 22-0 in the third-place match.

Northeastern stormed out to a 17–0 lead going into halftime on the back of two tries from Northeastern, capped off with a conversion. In the second half, two tries for the Golden Bears,
Nicolle Dudkewic (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) and
Ana Malafu (Kihei, Hawaii/Maui ) made it 17–10 before Northeastern could add the match finisher to come away with the 22–10 victory and birth into the challenge final.

It may have been the heat or just a long weekend facing tough competition, but KU ran out of gas in the third-place match and lost to Delaware 22-0 for a fourth place finish.
