CHESTER, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team had a tough first day at the Collegiate Rugby Championships in Chester, finishing Friday 0-3 in a difficult group play. Defeats were to Northeastern in the opener, followed by Army and then National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO).

The Golden Bears will look to bounce back when they hit the field again tomorrow, Saturday, in a win-or-go-home match with the time and opponent TBD.

Kutztown's lone try of the day came in the opening match against Northeastern as
Taya Jackson (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg Area South) got KU on the board in a 34-5 defeat.

In the remaining two matches, the Maroon and Gold had a difficult go in trying to move the ball down field against tough, physical and fast Army and NSCRO squads as Kutztown fell 38-0 and 47-0 respectively.
