WEST BABYLON, N.Y. -- The Kutztown University women's bowling team compiled a 4-1 record in Baker format play for the second straight day to conclude play at the Molloy Baker Invite and close out the regular season, Sunday.
Coming off a 4-1 Saturday, the Golden Bears (68-53) opened with back-to-back wins on day two, though Sunday's tournament was treated as a separate one-day event.
Kutztown produced a high game of 204 in a 922-864 victory over Caldwell and led off with its best game of the day, a 220, in defeating New Jersey City University 853-793.
Host Molloy got a measure of revenge against the Golden Bears, 908-831, after KU had beaten the Lions a day earlier. The Maroon and Gold wouldn't lose again, however, outscoring Felician by 37 pins in the final game (189-153) to pull out an 838-808 win and finishing up with an 828-678 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Kutztown took fourth in the team standings with 4,272 total pins and a 170.9 average. The Golden Bears knocked down 4,206 pins on Saturday (168.2 average).
Lindsey Gotwalt (Hanover, Md./Meade) had an 18.5 frame average in 20 frames to lead KU's efforts, while fellow freshman
Madison Burkert (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) averaged 18.0 pins per frame in the same number of frames.
