KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University baseball team's season-opening trip to Hampton, Virginia for the 2019 Builder Invitational has been canceled due to a poor weather forecast for the entire coming weekend.

KU was scheduled to open its 2019 campaign against Bluefield State on Thursday evening at 6 p.m., but with rain expected Thursday through Sunday, host Apprentice School opted to call off the tournament.

The Golden Bears will now look forward to next weekend's trip to Virginia State, where they'll take on both the host Trojans and UVA-Wise on Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3.
