KU Women’s Rugby uses strong first half to push past Saint Joseph’s Saturday

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team outscored Saint Joseph's University 40-7 in the first half and was able to cruise to a 55-21 victory last Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.
 
The Golden Bears (3-0 overall) have now won three-in-a-row.
 
Brooke Hughes (Woodbury, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury), Bekah Roux (Syracuse, N.Y./Baker) and Megan Babinsky (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) each recorded two try's, and Tamlyn Cowan (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson Township), Kathryne Wasdyke (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) and Alyssa Arena (Lititz, Pa./C Milton Wright) each added one try for KU. Maddy Forster (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) tallied five conversions.
 
Hughes was named the woman of the match, while Colleen Graney (Allentown, Pa./Louis E Dieruff) was recognized as the defensive player of the match.
 
Kutztown will conclude its fall regular season at Bloomsburg next Saturday, Oct. 19.
