SINKING SPRING, Pa. -- The Kutztown University women's bowling team opened its 2019-20 season with a 3-2 record in Baker format play at the Bud Whitman Memorial at Berks Lanes.

Angela Reynolds' debut, the Golden Bears picked up an 815-760 win over Coppin State to start their day. Howard topped KU by 103 pins, 1037-934, before the Maroon and Gold ripped off its highest score in more than a season during a 1033-918 win over Felician.
Kutztown went on to split its last two matches, defeating Chestnut Hill 944-883 and falling to 20th-ranked Duquesne 1066-870.
The Golden Bears (3-2) posted eight 200+ games throughout their five matches, including a team-high 266 in the victory against Felician.
Madison Burkert (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) supplied a 19.77 average over 49 frames and
Keanna Delp (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) an 18.65 average across 48 frames.
Alexis Case (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Township) and
Laura Hartley (Mt Pleasant Mills, Pa./Midd-West) also topped 17 pins per frame, both finishing with a 17.4 average. Hartley played 50 frames, while Case totaled 36.
Kutztown will continue play at the Bud Whitman Memorial on Sunday with five traditional format matches beginning at 9 a.m.
