PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Seeks Three-Game Win Streak When it Hosts Edinboro Wednesday

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team is eyeing a three-game win streak, its longest of the season, when it welcomes Edinboro University to town Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Keystone Arena in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game.
 
The Golden Bears (9-6 overall, 3-4 PSAC) enter the matchup with the Fighting Scots (4-7, 1-5) winners of two straight, both by double-digits. KU defeated Bloomsburg University in it last game last Saturday, Jan. 5, 80-69. It was also on the road in the game prior, taking down Bowie State in Bowie, Mary. 74-61.
 
The Kutztown offense ranks second in the PSAC in scoring at 83.6 points per game (ppg). KU is shooting 49.7% from the floor, also second in the PSAC. Edinboro ranks in the bottom-six in both scoring offense (72.8 ppg) and defense (78.7).
 
Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) has scored in double-figures in each of the last 44 games and is second in Division II at 27.1 ppg. He is seventh in the PSAC in three-point percentage (42.3), second in three-pointers made (47) and first in free-throw percentage (90.9).
 
In the last game against the Huskies, Lee, who was last season's Division II leader in three-point percentage (51.6), became the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made in a career (230).
 
Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) has five double-doubles this season. He ranks third in the PSAC at 9.4 rebounds per game and third in field-goal percentage (59.4). Ricky Hicks (Coatesville, Pa./Polytech) has started 13-of-15 games during his senior season and is averaging career-highs in multiple categories, including scoring. His 10.2 ppg ranks third on the team.
 
Last Saturday at Bloomsburg, Josh Townsend (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) (18 pts) and Kiyon Hardy (Philadelphia, Pa./The Shipley School) (16) each netted career-highs in points. Townsend recorded his second career double-double, adding 12 rebounds. Hardy was 3-for-5 from long distance.
 
Kutztown will look to defend the den tomorrow evening where it is 4-2 this season.
