The Golden Bears (3-0 overall) open up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division portion of their schedule with the matchup against the Huskies (2-2, 1-0 PSAC East) looking for their first 4-0 start since the 2011 season. They won their third straight game, and third consecutive come-from-behind victory to begin the season two weeks ago, a 48-33 come from behind victory at Gannon on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Eric Nickel (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), in his first career start, led the Kutztown offense to the tune of nearly 400 yards and six touchdowns on his way to being named the PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week. KU overcame deficits of 17 and 11 points and scored 26 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. He completed 28-of-40 passes for 394 yards to 12 different receivers, had five passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

Redshirt-senior running back Craig Reynolds (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) had a career-high 148 yards on nine catches and two touchdowns. He also ran for 80 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and has eight touchdowns on the year, first in the PSAC. Reynolds also ranks first in average all-purpose yards at 207.7 yards per game and jumped four spots to ninth in school history with 2,099 career rushing yards.

Senior receiver Conor Sullivan (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) caught a career-high three touchdowns on four catches vs. Gannon, Kutztown's first 3TD game from a receiver since Anthony Kelly's record-tying four in 2014. Sullivan is the ninth player in school history with three touchdown catches in a game.

As a team, Kutztown posted a season-high 579 yards of offense.

Defensively, Shawn Turber-Ortiz (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) had 10+ tackles for the second-straight game. He had 14 tackles Saturday with 10 solo stops. Senior Tajier Jefferson (East Orange, N.J./Queen of Peace) followed with 12 tackles, eclipsing 250 tackles for his career and moving into 11th in school history with 261. The duo are in the top-six in the conference in tackles per game, with Turber-Ortiz tops at 12.0 per game and Jefferson sixth at 8.3.

Notably, cornerback Ahkee Cox-Cowan (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) notched his 27th career pass breakup, moving into third in school history.

Bloomsburg snapped a two-game losing streak last Saturday night with a 28-24 victory over Shippensburg. Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Erik Benjamin had a career-high three touchdown passes.

The Huskies featured three running backs that carried the ball at least 11 times. Qmac Quiteh paced the unit with 89 yards on 13 attempts.

The key for KU will be to continue to put up points with its electric offense, which ranks fifth in the PSAC in scoring at 38.0 points per game. Bloomsburg is fourth in total defense, allowing just 18.8 ppg.
