KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team kicked off its 2018 Fall 15s season in a strong way, taking down East Stroudsburg University 83-5 last Friday, Sept. 7 at Andre Reed Stadium.
Six different Golden Bears recorded tries as KU led from start-to-finish and was never really pressured by the Warriors in the season-opener.
Tamlyn Cowan (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson Township) led KU with five tries.
Aysia Grondahl (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) and
Selena Garrett (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) also had multiple tries, tallying three and two respectively.
Taylor Carr (Hamburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional),
Taya Jackson (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg Area South) and
Sarah Masters (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) all added one try each.
Nicolle Dudkewic (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) converted eight tries for KU.
Kutztown hits the road for its next match against Rowan University on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m.
