KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team went up against West Chester University at home Thursday afternoon. In cold and windy conditions, KU dropped an 8-1 final to the Golden Rams in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action from the Keystone Courts.
 
Shadimon Navarro (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) was the lone winner for the Golden Bears, winning by default.
 
Alicia Pursell (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area) went to tiebreakers at No. 3 singles. She won the first set 6-2, but dropped the second 7-6 and fell 10-5 in tiebreakers. She also won three games in doubles play with teammate Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser).
 
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) rounded out KU's top performers, winning seven games in a 6-2, 7-5 loss at the top flight.
 
Kutztown returns to action tomorrow, Friday, April 6, with a road match at Jefferson University beginning at 3 p.m.
