KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In its final home match of the fall season, Kutztown women's tennis was shutout by Davis & Elkins Saturday afternoon at Keystone Courts.

A majority of the singles lineup had competitive matches, with both
Isabela de Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil/St. Paul's School) and
Anna Fisicaro (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) going into the decisive third set at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, falling 5-7, 6-1, 3-10 and 4-6, 6-0, 8-10, respectively. De Nadai and
Anastassiya Kim (Almaty, Kazakstan) went the furthest of the three doubles matches, falling 6-4. The teams of Fisicaro/
Myah Marturano (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) and
Maddie Gilbert (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional)/
Gabby Gentile (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) both won two games, dropping their sets 6-2.

In singles, Kim lost the first set 6-1, but battled back in the second and lost 6-4 at No. 1. Marturano and Gentile each dropped 6-2, 6-2 decisions.

Kutztown has three more matches this fall, all on the road. KU will compete twice next weekend, first at Seton Hill next Friday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m., and then will play at Washington & Jefferson next Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The Golden Bears will conclude their fall schedule at Moravian on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 3:30 p.m.
