HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Kara Urland (Saylorsburg, Pa./Pleasant Valley) won matches on Tuesday as the Kutztown University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Belmont Abbey College in the team's second match of spring break.
 
Despite the setback, Kutztown improved not only from its first match of spring break, but its previous meeting against Belmont Abbey last season (L, 0-9).
 
The Golden Bear duo of Urland and Capoferri teamed up in doubles action to start the day. They played at the No. 2 flight and won an 8-4 final.
 
Capoferri followed with a win at the top flight of singles play. She led KU with a 6-4, 6-1 victory as KU's sole singles winner.
 
Kutztown returns to action on Thursday, March 15, against Fairmont State at 12 p.m.
