KU Game Notes | Live Stats | Live Video

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team has had a week off since its last game, a 108-99 loss to West Chester University last Saturday, Feb. 3 at Keystone Arena. It was the first defeat in its last 19 games at home. But KU returns to the court tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 10 when it travels to take on Mansfield University at Decker Gymnasium in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. KU clinched its fifth straight PSAC tournament berth earlier this week when Lock Haven fell to East Stroudsburg.

Against the Golden Rams, the Golden Bears (15-5 overall, 11-5 PSAC) fell behind by 12 points (52-40) at halftime, their largest deficit at the break at home this season. They could not get any closer than seven (96-89) with 3:24 remaining before West Chester would score the next seven points to go up 103-89 and seal the game.

Redshirt-junior Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) tallied a career-high 38 points, breaking his previous high of 34, which he achieved three different times this season. Lee is third in the PSAC in scoring at 22.5 points per game.

Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) recorded his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and adding 12 assists to go along with five rebounds. Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) was one rebound shy of a double-double, tallying 13 points and nine rebounds for his sixth consecutive game scoring in double-figures. Facundo Arens (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Bahia Blanca) also reached double-figures, netting a season-high 10 points.

In the last matchup between Kutztown and Mansfield on Jan. 10, KU won 92-90 on a buzzer-beater by Rafiq Marshall (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz (Cheyney)). Marshall led all scorers with 22 points, a season-high. Ridgeway and Lee both had 15 points and Williams tied a career-high with 14 points.

The Mountaineers (6-15, 5-13) are on a four-game skid after winning their previous two games. They are coming off a 96-59 defeat at the hands of West Chester yesterday, Thursday, Feb. 8. This is the third straight home game for Mansfield, which sits two games behind Millersville for a PSAC tournament berth.

Mansfield is 16th in the conference in scoring (70.6 ppg) compared to Kutztown in second (87.8 ppg). The Mountaineers are led by Malik Carter at 16.1 ppg.
