KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University basketball team concludes a tough three games in five days stretch when it hosts Millersville University tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Keystone Arena at 7:30 p.m. in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

The Golden Bears (17-5 overall, 13-5 PSAC) are looking to go 3-0 through this patch of the schedule, earning wins at Mansfield, 77-71 last Saturday, Feb. 10, followed by a 92-85 double-overtime victory against No. 19 Shippensburg Monday, Feb. 12. KU tries to go on a three-game win streak when it hosts the Marauders (9-16, 7-12) at Keystone Arena, a place KU has been 38-3 at over the last three seasons, including winning 20 of its last 21 games.

With a win Wednesday night, Kutztown will secure a top-four seed in the PSAC tournament and host a first round game. Head coach Bernie Driscoll and his staff is hoping it can be a more comfortable night against Millersville than its last five games, all decided by nine points or less.

The Maroon and Gold played well past regulation vs. the Raiders Monday night. The two teams fought for two 20-minute halves and two five-minute overtime periods, as KU scored 14 of the last 18 points in the second overtime to win an important rematch over Ship. KU tied the game at the buzzer of regulation, and then saw a 3-pointer from the Raiders go in to tie the score at the end of the first overtime, but KU gave itself enough of a cushion in the second overtime period to come away with the victory.

Redshirt-freshman Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) had his third double-double of the season, recording 14 points and 13 rebounds. He had an important rebound and put-back basket as time expired at the end of regulation. Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) had a game-high 22 points and added 11 assists and four rebounds. Rafiq Marshall (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz (Cheyney)) tallied 17 points including 4-of-7 from long distance and 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. He also added a career-best six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Max Wagner (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, and Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) was the fifth starter that reached double-figures in points, dropping 11 to give him 1,348 points in his career, ninth in program history.

Four Golden Bears players recorded career-high marks in minutes, including Williams (38), Marshall (50), Lee (50) and Ricky Hicks (Coatesville, Pa./Polytech). Hicks had nine points and tied a career-high with six rebounds. He also went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. The three 3-pointers is the most made in his career.

In the last game against Millersville, an 87-77 win back on Jan. 13, Kutztown used the final seven minutes of the game to climb back and distance themselves in a back-and-forth second half. Trailing 62-60 with 6:47 to go, KU went on a 27-15 run to secure the win, after trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half. Lee (24 points) and Ridgeway (22) combined for 46 points.

The Marauders enter on the heels of an 89-78 defeat at Bloomsburg, the team just ahead of them in the standings, last Saturday. MU has won two of its last three games. Kutztown has won the last seven of this series, with the last loss coming 94-89 almost four years ago on this day, Feb. 15, 2014.

Millersville is led by do-it-all junior Marcus Adkison, who leads the team in scoring (19.1 ppg), assists (2.9 apg) and steals (0.9 spg).
