WILMINGTON, Del. -- The 24th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team wins two-of-its-three bracket matches to finish in seventh place (7-6 overall) in the best-of-seven baker-style format to highlight its third and final day on Sunday of competition at the D2/D3 Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Wilmington University.

The Golden Bears opened up their day with an impressive 4-1 win, taking the first two games and the last two games in defeating Medaille College in the first round of bracket play. It had a high-point win of 75, 199-124, in the second game.

Kutztown fell just short in its second round match, falling 4-3 in the seven-game series to host Wilmington University. KU actually fought all the way back after losing the first three games, one of which was by just one pin, but came back to take the next three to force a deciding seventh game.

The Maroon and Gold were able to amass some revenge against the Mavericks in their final round of bracket play, winning 4.5 games to 1.5, as the first game played resulted in a tie. After the tie, KU lost the second game, but won the next four to finish off the day and tournament in a winning way.

Angela Kozma (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) led KU with a high-frame average of 19.7 followed by
Alexis Case (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Township) at 17.2. Both Golden Bears played in all three matches.

Kutztown has about a month-and-a-half off before it returns to the lanes for the KU Invitational in Limerick on the weekend of January 18-20.
